North City Heating has been in the same location for over 30 years, positioned in the centre of the busy North Shore area. The company was established by Paul and Christine Smith in 1983 selling mainly wood fires and pot belly stoves before diversifying into gas a few years later.
Today the business is truly a family affair, with Paul and Christine’s son and grandchildren working in the business. Our customers have also carried on family ties, with the sons and daughters of previous customers now coming to see us. These days we offer a wide range of options for wood, gas and electric heating and also specialise in replacement fireplaces to help you upgrade your older wood fire.
The hallmark of the business has not changed over the years. Customer satisfaction has always been and still is our goal and we strive to offer cost-effective solutions combined with personal service. We look forward to making your home warm and cosy.

We provide a complete package from start to finish, including an in-home consultation service before you invest in any fire or heating products. You are also welcome to visit our large showroom in Mairangi Bay on Auckland's North Shore with many working models on display. We stock a wide range from affordable heating options for rental properties to high-end fires for showstopping living spaces.
Once you have chosen your heating option, we’ll manage any building consent or code of compliance sign-offs on your behalf. We'll then provide you with a full installation service completed by our team of skilled professional installers and certified gasfitters, who will go above and beyond to complete your installation and bring it to its highest possible standard.
